SMS Text Messaging Opt-In

HomeHerald is operated by Quetzal Solutions LLC. This page documents how end users consent to receive text messages from HomeHerald. There are two ways in: a resident's profile in the app, and booking a call with our founder on homeherald.ai.

How users opt in

  1. A resident creates a HomeHerald account (or is invited by their community).
  2. In the app, the resident opens Profile > Contact Information and taps edit next to Phone Number.
  3. The resident types their mobile number. Consent language is displayed directly beneath the phone number field (reproduced below).
  4. The resident taps Save. Providing a phone number is optional, and consent is not a condition of using the app.

The in-app opt-in experience

This is the phone number field as it appears in the HomeHerald app, including the consent disclosure:

Booking a call on homeherald.ai

  1. A visitor opens the "Or talk to Brett" section of homeherald.ai (homeherald.ai/#book) and picks a day and a time.
  2. The visitor types their name and mobile number. Consent language is displayed directly beneath the form (reproduced below).
  3. The visitor presses Book. We text a 6-digit code to that number; the call is booked only when the code is entered, so every number we text for a booking was confirmed by the person holding it.
  4. Booking is optional, and there are other ways to reach us (the Herald demo line on the same page, or hello@homeherald.ai).

For a booking we send, in order: the 6-digit code; a confirmation with the day and time; a reminder about an hour before the call; and, only if the call has to be cancelled, one message saying so with a link to pick a new time. That is up to 4 messages per booking, plus any new code the visitor asks for (at most 3 codes per number per day). No marketing messages are sent to numbers collected this way.
