The Plumber Your Neighbors Already Trust, in One List
Free for 50 Properties. No Credit Card Required.
A pipe bursts on a Saturday. The first thing anyone does is post “anyone know a good plumber?” in the neighborhood Facebook group and wait. Twenty minutes later there are nine replies, four of them arguing, and one phone number with no context. The board has used a reliable plumber for years, but that knowledge lives in one person’s contacts and leaves when they rotate off the board.
HomeHerald’s Service Provider Directory turns that scramble into a list. The vendors your community actually trusts, rated by the neighbors who used them, organized by trade, and one tap away.
A Directory the Whole Community Builds
The directory lives under Directory > Service Providers. Each provider record carries:
- Trade category - Landscaping, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Pool, Pest Control, Painting, Management, Legal, and whatever else your community uses
- Contact details and a short service description
- A community rating from the neighbors who have actually used them
- An emergency-availability flag for the vendors who answer at 2 a.m.
The board curates the core list, and residents can add the providers they have used and trust. The result is a directory that reflects real experience in your community, not a paid-placement ad network.
Share a Vendor With Anyone, in One Tap
Sometimes the person who needs the plumber is not in the app yet - a new neighbor, a renter, a board member from the next subdivision over. HomeHerald can generate a shareable link for any provider (homeherald.ai/v/…) that works for three days and needs no login.
The link shows only the public details - name, trade, contact info, rating, and whether they handle emergencies. Private admin notes stay private. Hand it over by text, drop it in an email, and the recipient sees the vetted vendor without having to join anything.
Why a Curated List Beats a Search Engine
A web search gives you the vendor who spent the most on ads. A neighborhood Facebook thread gives you nine opinions and an argument. Neither tells you who actually showed up on time and did good work in your community.
The Service Provider Directory is the institutional memory a self-managed board usually loses every time it turns over. The plumber that fixed the clubhouse last winter, the landscaper everyone is happy with, the electrician to avoid - that knowledge stays with the community instead of walking out with the outgoing treasurer.
It also pairs with the rest of HomeHerald: when you dispatch a work order, you are sending it to a vendor the community already vetted, and Herald Chat can recommend a provider from the directory when a resident asks who to call.
