Service Provider Directory
Keep a community-curated list of trusted vendors with ratings and emergency availability, dispatch work orders to them, and share any provider with a 3-day link that needs no login.
Last updated June 10, 2026
The Service Provider Directory is your community’s shared list of trusted vendors - the plumber that actually showed up, the landscaper everyone is happy with, the electrician to call in an emergency. It keeps that knowledge with the community instead of in one board member’s phone, and it feeds the vendors you dispatch work orders to.
Where to find it
Directory > Service Providers in the app. Both admins and residents can browse it.
Adding a provider
Each provider record holds:
- Trade category - Landscaping, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Pool, Pest Control, Painting, Management, Legal, and so on
- Contact details and a short service description
- A community rating from neighbors who have used them
- An emergency-availability flag for the vendors who answer after hours
The board curates the core list, and residents can add providers they have used and trust. The result reflects real experience in your community rather than whoever paid for the top search result.
Sharing a provider with a link
Sometimes the person who needs the vendor is not in the app - a new neighbor, a renter, a board member from another community. Open a provider and generate a shareable link (homeherald.ai/v/…). It works for three days and needs no login, and it shows only the public details (name, trade, contact, rating, emergency availability). Private admin notes stay private. Text it or email it and the recipient sees the vetted vendor without joining anything.
Using it with work orders
When you dispatch a work order, you are sending it to a vendor the community already vetted here. Herald Chat can also recommend a provider from this directory when a resident asks who to call.
